Factory Authorized Painter for BAUER and OLIE Sports

396 Breithaupt Street. Kitchener, Ontario. Canada
N2H 5H9

We are currently experiencing some issues with the website galleries. Hope to have it fixed up soon.

Where are you located?
I work from two private studios located in Kitchener, Ontario. Canada. Appointments can be made to meet and discuss your ideas in person if you are local. Just drop me a line or give me a call. In most cases the design can be done via email from start to finish.
Will you paint over an existing design?
In order for me to offer any kind of warranty I need to know that the job was done correctly form the ground up. For this reason I almost always strip the existing finish from your mask before I begin painting. It is then Primed  and sealed before color is applied. There are some exceptions. If the mask is a solid color and new, we can sometimes work with the existing finish. Or if the mask is from a manufacturer I paint for, such as Olie Sports, Chances are I painted the mask the first time. In this case I can still offer warranty as I know the mask was painted properly.
How long does it take?
The length of the job depends on the complexity of the design and how busy I am at the shop at the time. Turn around time is usually about 2-3 weeks from concept sketches to finished product. Sometimes a little longer, sometimes a little faster. After the mask is clear coated and baked, I like to let it sit for a few days to fully harden before assembly.  Sometimes a mask will require 2 clear coat sessions to level out the paint work. This adds more time but will give you a better final product. I do not like to paint masks between games as it rarely gives the fresh paint enough time to set up properly. It can be done but the clear coat will be somewhat soft in game.
How much does it cost and how do I pay?
Price depends on the complexity of the artwork, as well as the shape the mask is in. If there are any chips, cracks that need to be repaired. If the mask needs to be completely stripped etc. There is a lot involved to make sure you get the best quality paint job I can give you and to make sure it will last. I use only high quality materials. Most of the masks I paint range in price from $200.00 to $500.00 for artwork and $100.00 to $250.00 for solid color repaints depending on the effects used in the paint such as flake, pearl etc. I can usually give you a ball park figure after we have discussed your ideas. Payment can be made by money order, paypal, or cheque. If paying by cheque, your mask will not ship out until the cheque has cleared. A deposit is required before painting begins.
Do you offer any type of warranty?
I do not warranty paint chips from normal wear and tear. It is a rough sport and these cant really be avoided. I do offer a 1 year warranty against de-lamination. What this means is if your mask gets chipped and the paint continues to peel from the mask with little effort or begins to lift on its own within one year I will re-paint the mask at no charge if I deem the problem to be paint failure. This warranty is subject to my discretion and inspection.
Will you provide any samples or sketches?
I provide a 1 to 2 rather simple concept sketches after receiving your mask/deposit to get the layout and all elements nailed down. Once we have your idea, I work on one last sketch that is a little more detailed to give you an idea of what the final product will look like. If the ideas keep changing and/or you would like to see many different layouts,  There can sometimes be a fee involved with doing many concept sketches
Do you paint anything else?
Over the last couple of years I have begun to focus on Goalie masks and other smaller objects. I no longer to complete automotive repaints but can still work with you on any art you may be looking for. Other jobs such as motorcycle work, t-shirts, lettering or fine art are taken on a case by case basis as I don’t always have the time in my schedule or space in the studio. Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have regarding your painting needs.
You can use any shipping options that you like. UPS and Xpress Post are the most common options within Canada. International shipping may incur additional customs and brokerage fees that will be an extra charge and will be added to the final invoice. When using UPS internationally, items must be marked as "temporary Imports" to avoid UPS charing us tax on the value of your item. USPS Global Priority Mail has proven to be reliable when shipping from the USA and the brokerage fees are much more reasonable than UPS. If you have any questions or concerns regarding shipping, just let us know and we can work out the best shipping option for you.
